End Your Sentences With Prepositions, Go ahead!

Share it Please
It's simply not true to say we don't end a sentence with a preposition.

We do and we can.

The idea that we shouldn't is a hangover from Latin and is more a convention of strong debate tactics than it is of good grammar.

Unfortunately it has been adopted by the most conservative grammarians as a rule even though there are good reasons why it can be abandoned.

In my opinion language can be made more awkward and less clear by applying the idea of no ending prepositions.

I say abandon it and end your sentences with with.
